PORTSMOUTH. ENGLAND, February 2nd 2022 - Portsmouth, England - Freejam, the award-winning independent development studio behind the hit free-to-play game Robocraft, are setting their sights on their second-ever free-to-play IP, TECHBLOX. An innovative machine builder with competitive gameplay and powerful server-side physics technology.
A trailer for Techblox can be viewed here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLmCK4yT92g
Players construct their creations entirely out of blocks, then bring them to life! The building system is user friendly and features an automatic wiring system that will allow newcomers to simply place a number of starting components and make a vehicle in seconds.
Those who want to take on a challenge will be able to use versatile logic blocks in combination with joints to program an assortment of complex features. They can program pop up headlights, working forklift trucks and even customisable suspension systems.
Techblox will feature a number of competitive game modes, all of which are created entirely out of blocks using the world editor. Freejam is planning to implement the following modes:
Racing
Battle Arena
Deathmatch
Team Deathmatch
King of the hill
Battle Bots
Multi manned machine matches
Football
Obstacle courses
The server-side technology Techblox uses provides accurate physics calculations which are synchronised to every player on the server. Vehicles can collide at high speeds without fear of merging with another creation, push each other with complex joint systems and even pick up other players' creations. The team are continuously optimising the server technology and plan to support 40+ players in a single game mode. The result will be a glorious cacophony of creative contraptions all competing for victory.
Techblox is available to download via the official website at Techblox.com
