Gameware Development | Cambridge, United Kingdom - Children's BBC (CBBC) is launching the second series of BAMZOOKi on March 7th 2005 where children in homes across the UK are empowered to create an animated Zook, a computerised creature to compete in a multi-challenge TV or online environment.

Since BAMZOOKi debuted last year, 6-12 year olds have been intrigued and compelled by computerised creatures that can be created in the bedroom from the internet, to compete on the BAMZOOKi show on CBBC. BAMZOOKi online at bbc.co.uk/cbbc will be taken to a new exciting level, where the show's audience can create a Zook to compete or collaborate to improve other people's Zooks.

Ian Saunter, Development Director of the BAMZOOKi technology at Gameware Development added, "BAMZOOKi's bespoke integrated artificial life technology suite combines physics, artificial intelligence and 3D graphics for anyone who can point and click a mouse." Saunter continued, "Anyone can play and compete with BAMZOOKi's entertaining and educative system to learn the art of physics, movement, and mechanics with ease through CBBC's engaging online and TV mass media channels. It's simple, fun to use and freely available through CBBC online, yet it's one of the most powerful forms of cyber-plasticine available anywhere."

BAMZOOKi is the first cross media children's TV show especially produced for CBBC where online, games and TV converge into a true 'lean-forward, lean-back' experience. Series one aired on digital and terrestrial during 2004, receiving up to 1.1 million viewers per show, and was polled by Broadcast as the 6th most watched Children's show, in the edition appearing in April 2004. Series two commences on March 7th, at the peak viewing time of 17.45 on the CBBC Channel. To find out more visit the BAMZOOKi mini-site at bbc.co.uk/cbbc.
