FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – February 22, 2024

The playtest for CritterGarden is now available to the public on Steam. CritterGarden is a cozy creature collector and ecosystem builder that is full of surprises. You play as an intergalactic biologist stranded on a desolate planet. With the help of the planet’s life-supporting AI, explore the planet to find the lost parts to your ship so you can return home. Along the way, use your gardening and scientific abilities to bring the planet back to life!

Main features of CritterGarden:

  1. Tame and breed Critters: Critters have complex emotional needs based on real animals. If their ecosystem is in the correct balance, Critters will be happy and breed, and their populations will grow!

  1. Build self-sustaining ecosystems: Start from nothing and build a thriving garden. As you progress, this garden may turn into a self-sustaining ecosystem!

  2. Discover new life: All Critters are part of a single evolutionary tree of life with multiple evolutions and branching pathways. Critters evolve by meeting certain requirements related to foods they have consumed and the ecosystem around them.

  3. Play mini-games and solve puzzles: Exploration around the planet requires the completion of mini-games and solving puzzles in the overworld. There are 9 different biomes to unlock and build in.

  4. Engage with a subtle, but potent narrative: As you explore your surroundings, you will learn more about the dark past of the mysterious planet you are stranded on.

About Minjonia Studios: CritterGarden is the passion project of an evolutionary biologist turned solo-dev. More information can be found on YouTube, X, and on our Discord server.
