Prague, October 15th 2024 – Today, Bohemia Interactive released DayZ Frostline, the highly anticipated second ever expansion for DayZ. Transforming DayZ, the ever-popular survival experience played by more than 1.6 million players across all platforms over the course of last month, DayZ Frostline offers exploration of the cold Sakhal map, with new content that promises to push players and their skills to their limits in a frozen volcanic archipelago that’s filled with danger and adventure.

Spanning over 80 km², survivors will explore a snow-covered wilderness, from dense forests to frozen lakes, where every step presents both beauty and danger. The expansion introduces new survival dynamics, requiring players to manage warmth and resources, while navigating innovative structures and landmarks. Additionally, new wildlife adapted to the harsh environment and drivable boats bring fresh gameplay opportunities to the world of DayZ.
Key features of DayZ Frostline include:
New Terrain: Discover an untouched archipelago where time stands still.
Winter Landscape: Experience a late winter setting.
Harsher Survival: Manage warmth and hunt for sustenance.
Environmental Hazards: Discover the hazards of living near volcanic areas.
Richer Wilderness: Meet new wildlife species that have adapted to the cold.
New Gameplay Mechanics: Face new diseases, enhanced fishing mechanic, and for the first time, operate drivable boats to traverse the frozen waters.
On top of all this, the official hive experience is changing with the introduction of regional loot economy. Loot on different maps is divided by a climate and regional themes. Sakhal offers warm clothes and mostly eastern gear. Livonia on the other hand spawns mostly summer clothes and western-made gear. Chernarus remains a mix of both to preserve its original feel.
