Doetinchem, November 15th 2005 - Engine Software, a developer based in the Netherlands, today announces that the Nintendo DS handheld is now included in the list of supported platforms for the Music & Sound Replayer library.
Nintendo DS, the latest handheld console created by Nintendo, is the latest platform that is included in Engine Software's middleware Program: The Music & Sound Replayer which was already available for GameboyTM Advance and ZodiacTM Tapwave. The Nintendo DS version offers all the functionality that previous versions had but also includes some exciting new features such as support for highly compressed audio streaming, specifically designed for voice overs. Like all earlier versions, the Nintendo DS Music & Sound Replayer is based on the XM music format.
Mr. Ivo Wubbels, CEO at Engine Software explains: "Several of the developers that have been using our Music & Sound Replayer for the GBA platform kept asking us about a version for the Nintendo DS. We are happy that the first version is now available for licensing, but we will keep adding new DS specific features that all our licensees will receive as free updates."
The Engine Software Music & Sound Replayer is a cutting edge, highly flexible Music and Soundeffect player, built to keep up performance in any game, and any situation. Since the original release on the GameboyTM Advance platform the Library has been hailed for its flexibility, features and performance. Over thirty developers worldwide have licensed the Library for GBA, including renowned companies such as Vicarious Visions, DC Studios, Digital Eclipse, Pocket Studios, Monkeystone, Rockstar Leeds, and Hypnotix.
