FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Reykjavik, Iceland - February 7, 2006 - CCP Games, an independent producer of massively-multiplayer online games, today announced that its flagship product EVE Online has reached 100,000 active game subscribers and is maintaining the robust subscription growth trend of the past year. This milestone for CCP Games follows the announcement of EVE Online being voted Best Game in the 2005 MMORPG.COM Reader's Choice Awards, and the release of its Red Moon Rising edition to subscribers.

"The momentum of EVE Online is accelerating globally," said Magnus Bergsson, CMO of CCP Games. "The growth of the game's popularity within the MMOG genre has become especially evident in highly competitive markets such as the US and Western Europe, and we fully expect to carry that momentum into China's game market later this year."

EVE Online has distinguished itself within the industry by setting the world PCU (Peak Concurrent Users) record in a persistent, single game universe, currently at 23,178 users. The game also utilizes a time-based leveling system, in which the progression of player abilities is independent of the time spent in-game.

"The key to success in this industry is providing content that promotes immersive longevity," said Nathan Richardsson, Senior Producer of EVE Online. "Time-based skill advancement evens the playing field between new and veteran players, and our model of providing free game expansions to subscribers ensures that the player experience always stays fresh and continues to evolve."

Later this month, CCP Games will complete the implementation of a total overhaul of EVE Online's hardware infrastructure, featuring 64-bit architecture provided by IBM. The state-of-the-art hardware will more than double the capacity of the existing game universe and provide significant improvements to in-game performance, particularly during peak server usage.

"Our ongoing partnership with IBM and investment in their technology reflects our commitment to the single game universe standard that has put us here," said Hilmar Pétursson, CEO of CCP Games. "To meet the increased demands of a rapidly growing subscriber base, we will continue to scale our infrastructure to allow for future growth and to continue providing a high-quality gaming experience for all of our customers."
