Riot Games :

League of Legends: Wild Rift Patch 5.1 releases April 11, bringing new champions, an all-new game mode, and a three-part event that unravels the mysteries of the Shadow Isles!

New Champions

Patch 5.1 welcomes three new champions to the Rift, each with their own ties to a pivotal moment in the history of Runeterra: the Ruination!

  • Once a proud and noble Camavoran general, Kalista is now a specter of wrath and retribution known as the Spear of Vengeance. Kalista pierces her enemies with soul-spears and can inflict lethal damage to her foes upon rending them out.

  • A brooding and brutal monarch, Viego, the Ruined King, is ready to extend his reign onto the Rift. Viego wields the powers of the Black Mist to close in on enemies and possess the bodies of any who dare to cross his path.

  • Maokai, the Twisted Treant, was once a peaceful nature spirit until the scourge of unlife from the Shadow Isles took over his home. Now twisted into a force of vengeance, Maokai uses his command over nature to trample those that threaten him.

Champion Reworks

Miss Fortune, the Bounty Hunter, will get a new passive ability that makes it easier for her to Double Tap her enemies. The new passive applies stacks to her enemies while she’s dealing damage, with collected stacks dealing bonus damage with Miss Fortune’s abilities and basic attacks.

Riven, the Exile, will now benefit from an extended ultimate duration upon killing an enemy champion.

Jax, the Grandmaster at Arms, will receive a change to his ultimate, which will now deal area of effect damage immediately and grant armor and MR to Jax based on the number of enemies hit.

Master Yi, the Wuju Bladesman, is getting an upgrade to his Meditate ability that will allow him to weave in his basic attacks more fluidly.

Gameplay

During this patch, items across all game modes will be categorized as Radiant or Shadow. Radiant items focus on protection and utility, whereas Shadow items carry more risk, but may have a bigger payoff. Players may also notice the mist of the Shadow Isles creeping onto the Rift…

Separately, a magic circle has been added to the alcove in the Baron lane, where players can summon an Ixtal Mosstomper to help them in battle and in taking down enemy turrets.

Modes

The first of the three acts in Beyond Ruination introduces an all-new wave-defense game mode, Final Stand.

Beyond uncovering Kalista’s past in Final Stand, players will also unlock stories in different visual formats across the three acts of the patch, which will reveal even more of her backstory. After being unlocked, the stories will be permanently added to players’ collections for them to rewatch at their leisure.

Ranked

Ranked Season 13 starts in mid-April and features a snazzy new Braum skin as a reward.

Wild Pass

The new Wild Pass looks to first sate players’ appetites with Food Spirits Fizz and later turn up the heat with Infernal Shen.

Events

Beyond the encroaching darkness of the Shadow Isles-related events in Patch 5.1, players can look forward to brighter in-game celebrations this patch around Pride!
