Five women-led games scoop Innovate UK Award

Innovate UK is delivering a £6.2 million* boost to the UK’s future innovation leaders.

Five women-led games from across the UK have scooped a national award from Innovate UK. As part of the award, studios will receive grant funding* and 12 months of tailored business support to help them grow.


Among those receiving the award are BAFTA-winning game designer Kate Killick (CEO, Glowfrog Games, Norwich), BAFTA & RTS nominated Jane Gerber (Peanut & Crumb, Brighton), BAFTA Breakthrough Alyx Jones (Silver Script Games, Guildford), MCV 30 Under 30 lister Hilary Lok (Dot Dot Fire, London) and Connie Reid (Konglomerate Games, Dundee).



The award comes at a critical time for gender diversity in the games industry, following a recent report underscoring the funding gap faced by women seeking investment for their studios: https://www.polygon.com/24058266/video-game-industry-funding-gap.
