November 6, 2024 – Fans of real-time strategy classics can now look forward to Fractured Alliance, the upcoming game from indie developer Tense Games. Inspired by Command & Conquer and similar genre-defining titles, Fractured Alliance delivers a modern spin on RTS gameplay, infusing it with fresh mechanics and a unique three-faction warfare system. Available now for wishlisting on Steam, this title is set to be a must-play for those craving both nostalgia and next-level strategic depth.
In Fractured Alliance, players will choose between three distinct factions, each with its own strengths, weaknesses, and unique combat styles:
United Federation: Armed with high-tech weaponry, the United Federation leverages plasma and railgun tech for precision strikes. While their specialized units and energy-based defenses excel at targeted damage, they come at a premium cost, requiring careful management and tactical precision.
Eastern Alliance: Built on brute strength, the Eastern Alliance boasts rugged, heavily armored units and devastating area-of-effect weapons. Using flame and radiation tech, they excel in crowd control and territory defense, but their units’ slower speed and lack of precision make them vulnerable to agile foes.
The Collective: Perfect for newcomers, The Collective relies on autonomous drones for continuous battlefield presence. Their swarm tactics enable sustained pressure, yet their drones are less durable and can be countered by high-damage defenses.
Echoing the spirit of RTS giants like Red Alert 2, Ground Control, Starcraft, and Supreme Commander, Fractured Alliance introduces new tactical layers that keep players on their toes. The gameplay revolves around harvesting resources across diverse terrains, capturing nodes that influence production, and making the most of each battlefield’s unique topography. Whether positioning artillery on high ground or setting ambushes in dense forests, players will find creative ways to turn the environment to their advantage.
Beyond its story-driven single-player campaign, Fractured Alliance also offers both competitive and cooperative multiplayer modes, with battles that continually test strategic skill. As players progress, they’ll unlock powerful superweapons like weather-control storms, nuclear strikes, and stealth carpet bombing runs—each capable of tipping the scales in intense matches.
While Tense Games has not announced an official release date, Fractured Alliance is now open for wishlisting on Steam, and the studio is currently entertaining publishing offers, opening doors for partnerships to help bring this ambitious RTS title to an even larger audience.
