07/10/05 - Future, publishers of gadget magazine T3 and titles including Health & Fitness and Junior have launched GadgetCandy.com, a brand-new technology and lifestyle weblog for women.
The launch of GadgetCandy.com comes hot on the heels of high street research which revealed that women now spend an average of £634 per year on gadgets and technology. Backed by its big brother T3 magazine, GadgetCandy.com offers women a guide through the latest technology and hi-tech happenings with a distinctly feminine touch.
Joining Future to lead a team of writers and contributors for GadgetCandy.com is Senior Writer Jessamy Hawley. She brings with her a heady mix of editorial and fashion experience from her work with Gucci and health and lifestyle titles both abroad and in the UK.
Regularly updated throughout the working day, GadgetCandy.com will follow the latest trends in technology and act as a gadget barometer for women who demand the most stylish products, from the latest MP3 players, video games and phones through to gadgets used by celebrities and "naughty candy."
Jessamy Hawley, Senior Writer for GadgetCandy.com says:
"Girls today are proud of their gadget wardrobe. GadgetCandy.com celebrates this by uncovering the hottest new additions and trends, be it glitzy iPod accessories or the season's must-have mobile."
James Beechinor-Collins is Editor of T3 magazine and oversees both the t3.co.uk and GadgetCandy.com websites:
"With many women swapping lipstick for memory sticks, we knew there was massive potential in creating a new female-focused spin-off from the T3 brand. GadgetCandy.com is a re-imagining of T3 for women. Men and women want different things from their gadgets, so we've created a site that delivers specifically for women. GadgetCandy.com has its own unique voice and will become the respected authority on gadgets and gear for women.
"Jess's arrival on the team has been a breath of fresh air and has brought an eye-opening approach to writing about technology. She has a refreshing, tongue-in-cheek approach which readers of the site will love."
