South San Francisco, CA (January 11, 2006) - Future US's Official Xbox Magazine, the officially licensed, largest single platform videogame magazine in the US dedicated to all things Microsoft Xbox and Xbox 360, has named Francesca Reyes as its editor-in-chief. This promotion makes Reyes the only woman to hold the top editorial position at any major-market videogame publication.

Reyes has been an integral part of Future US's editorial team for the past ten years, most recently serving as Official Xbox Magazine's executive editor since March 2004. She began her career as a writer with Future's Ultra Game Players magazine, and has also written for such titles as Future's Next Generation and PSM: 100% Independent PlayStation 2 Magazine. Reyes played a prominent role in the launch of both Official Dreamcast Magazine and Official Xbox Magazine.

With a current rate base of 425,000, Official Xbox Magazine continues to have more subscribers and newsstand circulation than any other officially licensed games publication in the U.S. The magazine also just scored a U.S. exclusive to include a limited edition, playable FINAL FANTASY XI beta disc in the February 2006 issue, hitting newsstands January 17.

"This landmark promotion embodies a truly exciting time period for not only Official Xbox Magazine, but for the entire gaming industry," said Rob Smith, associate publisher of Official Xbox Magazine. "Fran has already established herself as an expert voice within the industry, and her unique perspectives will no doubt help to further the diversification and growth of both the magazine's readership, as well as the Xbox 360 console user base."

Peter Moore, Corporate Vice President, Interactive Entertainment Business, Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft Corp. said, "We're delighted to see Fran promoted to Editor-in-Chief of Official Xbox Magazine. Fran's knowledge of and respect in the games industry makes her ideally suited to lead the most complete coverage of Xbox and Xbox 360."

Official Xbox Magazine is available at any of more than 60,000 retail locations, including Wal-Mart, Target, Walgreens, 7-Eleven and specialty game stores.
