GarageGames | Eugene, OR - April 27, 2005 - GarageGames today announced new feature support for Mac OS® X version 10.4 "Tiger" in both the Torque 2D and Torque Game Engines. Both engines will enjoy the advantages of 64-bit support and XcodeTM 2.0 optimizations. Additional enhancements will include direct support for Tiger features Automator and .Mac Sync.

These enhancements deliver into both professional and consumers hands the ability to create native Mac OS X games with the highest quality tools available for less than a 1,000th the price of comparable technologies on the market. These new Torque versions, scheduled to release in the next quarter, bring a complete suite of native Mac OS X game-making tools to independent game developers, supporting the latest features of Mac OS X Tiger.

"It's no secret that the Power PC G5 is being used for nearly all next-generation console game development," explains Josh Williams, GarageGames 3rd Party Development Director. "Now with the improved quality of workflow using Xcode and Mac OS X Tiger, the Power PC really becomes the best of breed game development platform for everyone, especially Torque developers."

"The breakthrough features in Tiger, combined with our Xcode development tools, create a really powerful game development platform," said Ron Okamoto, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. "We're excited GarageGames uses the innovation in that platform to enable Torque developers to deliver next generation Mac OS X games."

2005 is going to be a break out year for Mac OS X game development and GarageGames is looking forward to active participation at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC '05, June 6-10 in San Francisco). GarageGames is excited to be participating in the game community activities (http://developer.apple.com/wwdc/gamesdev.html) at the event. Jay Moore, GarageGames Chief Evangelist, will be on-hand to discuss developing games on Mac OS X Tiger with the Torque game engines, as well as the growing popularity and opportunity of "casual" games.
