GGDA Names Nominees for $1,500 in Indie Game Awards

ATLANTA – (Nov. 3, 2021) – The Georgia Game Developers Association (GGDA) today announced 14 indie games competing for $1,500 in prizes. The fourth-annual Silver Excellence in Game Design (Silv-E) nominees include student projects, board games, and a number of computer games. The winners will be announced Nov. 7 at the conclusion of the Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo (SIEGE).


Current awards include: Best Game $500, Made in Georgia $100, Best Production $100, Best Design $100, Most Fun $100, Best Student Game $100, Best Analog Game $100, Best Audio $100, Best Art $100, Audience (SIEGE) Choice $100.

SIEGE kicks off 5 pm EST Nov. 5 with free game development workshops as well as esports presentations held in conjunction with Georgia State University’s PantherLAN tournament. Panels include a college esports coaches roundtable, a session on going pro in esports and more. PantherLAN attracted more than 40 colleges from three continents in Spring, and the Fall tournament appears ready to top that. SIEGE has been the longest operating and largest professional game development conference in the Southern United States. Going hybrid for 2021, SIEGE offered a college fair Oct. 14, online presentations Nov. 5-6 and the annual Silv-E awards Nov. 7. Presentations address game design, programming, art, audio, business, and serious games. It is also hosting a digital media investment conference Dec. 3.

 
Based in Atlanta, SIEGE is a service of the Georgia Game Developers Association. Since 2007, SIEGE has featured leading figures from the industry and has hosted panels reflecting a wide spectrum of the game production industry, including artists, programmers, designers, investors, writers, teachers and business executives.


The Georgia Game Developers Association is the nonprofit trade association for Georgia-based businesses and professionals in the video game manufacturing industry. It supports its members with business opportunities, educational services, professional development and public affairs coordination.
