Former Stellaris lead designer and solo developer aliasBlack’s debut project, Glyphica: Typing Survival has sold 17,000 units since Early Access and has now released the first Update to the game, in line with its promise to do regular updates.
Glyphica: Typing Survival is a single-player typing test-turned-horde survival game that provides a strategic WPM challenge for hardcore roguelite gamers and keyboard enthusiasts alike.
Augmentations add a new metalayer to the game, allowing players to earn coins, then buy and equip augmentations to suit their specific playstyle. New augmentations will be added on a regular basis, ensuring more replayability.
The Barrage Main Weapon adds a new armament to your typing arsenal. Unleash a barrage of rockets that do AoE damage on your enemies! It takes time to reload however, so managing the risk/reward of shooting vs reloading adds another aspect of strategizing to the game.
Two new typing modes have been released for typists who are looking for a more relaxing experience. Typist mode is the simplest form of the game, with no additional weapons, experience, or upgrades, but with vastly easier enemies. Relaxed mode offers a 50% less spawn rate for enemies, allowing for a much slower pace.
On the other hand, for those looking for a challenge, “Spaces and Punctuation” is now selectable in the options mode. When this is turned on, players must type spaces and punctuation when dealing with the Poet boss.
