08/03/06 - Future is delighted to announce that the Golden Joystick Awards 2006 will be screened by ITV4, as part of a special-themed evening of games programming.
Now in its 24th year, the long-running gaming awards returns to the Park Lane Hilton, London on Friday, 27th October. With over a dozen categories chosen solely by the votes of UK gamers, the awards will feature in a special Golden Joystick Awards TV show screened on ITV4.
Table sales begin in April and Future will make further announcements in due course, but work is underway to secure a number of high profile media partners for the Golden Joystick Awards 2006. Organisers hope to smash last year's total of almost 200,000 votes.
Event Organiser James Ashton-Tyler said:
"The Golden Joystick Awards are now in their 24th year and are the longest-running video games awards in the world. Because there're voted for by real gamers they've always been the gongs that matter most and we are delighted that by screening the awards on ITV4, we'll be able to bring them to an even wider audience."
