Vancouver, Canada, 15 February, 2024 - With over 17,500 players playing the demo, GUARDS! was ranked 45th for peak concurrent users during Steam Next Fest! Wylderzone Studios is excited to share some statistics from the event. If you weren’t able to play the demo during Next Fest, you won’t have to wait long to get your hands on GUARDS!. The game is set to release in just over 2 weeks, on March 1st.

What is GUARDS!?
GUARDS! is a 1-4 player coop fantasy FPS that puts you in the under-funded and over-zealous steel boots of the City Watch. Kick down doors, bust criminals and cause excessive property damage as you fight to restore law and order to the corrupt city of New Alestead.
Called the “Lethal Company of medieval times”, you’ll play with up to 3 friends, working together as a team to take back control from the three rival factions controlling the city. Complete a variety of missions including hostage rescue, evidence collection, contraband destruction, subdue and arrest in a procedurally generated city. Successful missions award you the intel you need to find the factions’ kingpins and bring them to justice!

Global stat tracking with the NAPD crime report board
Game Master mode for players to make their own missions
Procedurally generated maps with dynamic weather and time of day
Over 20 weapons including 1 handed, 2 handed, shields, ranged and throwables
Use your surroundings as a weapon - crates, barrels, bits of door, arms…they’re all fair game.

Wylderzone is an independent game studio from the mean streets of Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2023 by Aidan Price, Wylderzone is home to a ragtag band of games industry veterans committed to creating unconventional connected experiences that are a bit more out there.
