New York, NY (October 14, 2024) – Ready your spellbooks, sharpen your battle axes, and prepare to delve into some dungeons as today, indie studio Burgee Media is thrilled to launch the demo for single-player MMO-like Erenshor. Inspired by classic MMORPGs but designed as a single-player experience, Erenshor appeals to busy gamers who want to quickly dive in, make progress, and enjoy a few minutes of offline play, whether they're on the go or taking a short break.

Just in time for Halloween and October’s Steam Next Fest, the new Erenshor demo showcases a brand new region: Shivering Step. A suitably spooky and eerie new area, Shivering Step beckons players further into the Island of Stowaway's Step to uncover the mysteries behind its dark atmosphere (maybe even coming across a friendly skeleton or two.) The updated demo offers a swath of new content, including six new bosses, over 25 new equitable items to discover, and much more for up to 12 hours of fresh gameplay.
Harkening to beloved legacy MMOs of the '90s and early 2000s, like EverQuest and RuneScape, Erenshor recreates the experience of a typical MMORPG. However, instead of real players, would-be adventurers are surrounded by hundreds of “Simulated Players” who act as stand-ins for human gamers. Team up with these SimPlayers for raids, trading, and much more. As a single-player game, there are no time commitments—players can jump in and out whenever they like. The world continues to evolve in ‘real-time’ while real-life calls, but progress won’t be made until players hop back into the fray. SimPlayers will level up alongside players, whether they’re on or offline. They'll discover new items both independently and with player assistance, request loot drops, trade gear, join and leave guilds, and even invite players to raids as they become more familiar with them. They should tread carefully, however. Like modern RPG companions, the SimPlayers will remember players and their interactions—for better or worse.
Erenshor is designed entirely as a single-player experience. Every puzzle, piece of content, and gameplay element is handcrafted and balanced for solo play, making it the only "MMO-like" game truly intended for solo enjoyment.
Erenshor Key Features:
MMORPG Gameplay Without the Commitment: In Erenshor, players can revisit the feeling of MMORPG gameplay at their own pace and on their own time. Have to leave a raid early? Have to ditch your group for family time? Do it! Nobody will hold it against them, and they can pick up where they left off next time.
Alone, but Never Lonely: Erenshor boasts a population of "SimPlayers" who will adventure right alongside you. They'll join your groups, insult your fashion, invite you to raids, and, most importantly—they'll progress on their own.
A World Divided: Eresnhor’s world is divided into separate 'zones.' Areas are unique to themselves and can be traversed at will—whether you’re equipped or not. Explore cities, dungeons, tombs, forests, beaches, forts, meadows, caves, and mountain ranges–a huge world to explore with secrets in every corner.
Hundreds of Quests and NPCs to Discover: Though the adventure is a single-player experience, that doesn’t mean the world of Erenshor is a ghost town. Players will meet and interact with hundreds of in-world NPCs, many with quests to give or gossip to share.
The new Erenshor demo launches today on PC via Steam. Join Burgee Media’s official Discord, follow on X (Twitter), subscribe to the official YouTube channel, and check out the official website.
