London, UK & San Francisco, CA - 9th December, 2005: Jamba (Jamster outside of Germany), the world's most successful off-portal distributor of mobile entertainment, has chosen I-play's Jewel Quest as "Best Mobile Game 2005". Jamba's jury of gaming experts awarded Jewel Quest the portal's "Goldener Zockerdaumen" (German for "Golden Gamer's thumb").
The panel of experts praised Jewel Quest, the mobile game version of the top-selling online game from iWin, as easy to learn for beginners, with uncomplicated game play and colourful graphics, and full of thrilling and fascinating challenges.
The original web version of Jewel Quest has been gaining momentum since its launch early in 2004, when it was declared a finalist for the 2004 Billboard Digital Entertainment Awards as 'Downloadable Game of the Year'. It went on to become one of the most popular online casual games on a wide range of online web gaming sites and portals.
The mobile version of the title was published by I-play in July 2005 and became an instant worldwide hit, and is today available on more than 215 mobile devices in over 80 countries. It has - amongst other sales successes - been on the Number One spot in Jamba's sales charts.
Paul Maglione, Senior VP of Publishing and Marketing, I-play, commented: "This wonderful recognition from the world's most successful non-carrier retailers of mobile games comes at the end of a great 2005 for the mobile version of Jewel Quest, which is already one of our best-selling games ever. As it continues to go from strength to strength, it confirms - as does this award - that one-thumb, instant fun quality games are what the market really wants."
