October 22nd, 2024 – Odania GmbH is excited to announce the upcoming Meta release of Space Drop - a fast-paced VR runner game currently available on Steam. In Space Drop, players are thrust into the high-stakes world of competitive Space Jumping and must fly through exhilarating warp tunnels at lightspeed where only the most skilled will survive.
In the year 2142, New Earth is buzzing with excitement as the prestigious Universe Space Jumper Championship begins. In the game, players start off as rookie competitors and must face off against the galaxy’s most skilled Space Jumpers - players in this case. With high stakes and the weight of the universe on their shoulders, players are tasked with leaping from spaceships into warp tunnels at breakneck speeds, dodging obstacles along the way in an attempt to prove themselves and become a symbol of hope for humanity’s future.
When asked about what inspired the development of Space Drop, Mike Peterson of Odania had this to say:
“I have loved games since my youth. Started playing and creating games on the C64 at the age of 8. I continued on the development track until now. I Love new technology and that is why I love VR. A fast paced VR Autorunner sounded like a lot of fun. That is why we started to build the game. I love SciFi and jumping out of a Spaceship feels like a thrill.”
When leaping into the game for the first time, players will blast their way through space, taking out asteroids and narrowly avoiding space gates and lasers along the way to ensure they can make it to the end of each level. To increase their chances of survival, players can grab a variety of pick-ups while soaring through space, each granting a unique boost to the player’s capabilities or potential.
While there’s plenty of predetermined levels to play through, players can also create their own custom levels with the in-game level generator. With a ton of customization available, players can completely tailor the experience to their own skill level and pace - ensuring an accessible environment that focuses on creating a fun experience for all.

Space Drop is available now on Steam and contains an action-packed free demo for players who want to check out the game first. The game is set to release on Meta on the 5th of November this year. Odania GmbH recently showcased the game at Gamescom to very positive reception, with some players even claiming it was “Better than Beatsaber”.
