LEVEL5 Inc. Announces Worldwide Pre-Order for 'MEGATON MUSASHI W: WIRED' for PlayStation® on March 28 and Upcoming Global Release for Nintendo Switch™ and Steam®

March 28, 2024 – LEVEL5 Inc. is pleased to announce that pre-orders for MEGATON MUSASHI W: WIRED, which will also be playable on Steam® and Nintendo Switch™, open today. Fans of the franchise will also be able to enjoy the popular TV anime MEGATON MUSASHI worldwide.

MEGATON MUSASHI W: WIRED - In this robot action RPG set on an alien-invaded Earth, an ensemble of 16 pilots teams up to reclaim the planet. In addition to the anime storyline, individual scenarios and quests are available to delve deeper into each character and experience exhilarating battles. Players can customise their robots, called “Rogues,” not just by freely reconfiguring the body, arms, and legs, but also by altering and enhancing their performance even further with a motherboard. MEGATON MUSASHI W: WIRED is the third and latest title from the popular series to release in Japan, and the first to release worldwide.

Bonus features of the Deluxe Edition have been revealed to include two new Rogues and a digital art book comprising more than 90 pages, including unpublished material. Visit the official website for more details on other bonus features, such as limited-edition weapons and pilot attires. 

With the addition of the Steam® version, worldwide cross-play and cross-saving between all supported platforms have been enabled. This will allow up to three players to enjoy cooperative play and up to three-on-three battle modes with people from all over the world.

Pre-orders for PS4 and PS5 will be open March 28 to April 24, and pre-ordering comes with a bonus limited-edition Rogue, Yatabushi, whose design is based on samurai armor, and who can empower its equipped Special Moves. 

Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch™ will be open from April 11, 09:00 AM JST to April 25, 8:59 AM JST, and while there is no pre-order available for the Steam® version, the limited-edition Rogue Yatabushi will be available for purchase on April 25.

Additionally, the anime adaption will become available outside of Japan on Crunchyroll soon.

Megaton Musashi was conceptualized and directed by Akihiro Hino and the anime adaptation was co-produced by TOKYO MX, LEVEL5 and OLM. It focuses on the citizens of an ordinary and peaceful town who are blissfully unaware of the untold truth: that Earth has already been destroyed. 

Mysterious alien forces known as Draktor have decimated 99.9% of humanity, drilled into the earth, and terraformed a new habitat in which to live. Humans have no choice but to hide away in shelters, waiting for the day of resurrection, which may never even come.

The inhabitants of the shelter Ixia are living in ignorance, their memories erased following the day of destruction. They are protected by the chosen ones, the pilots of the Rogues, fighting in the war against the aliens. Today, a new pilot is to be selected.
