London, 15.12.05 The Skill Gaming site Midasplayer.com has today re-branded as King.com. The new name reflects the player ranking system that regulates competition on the King.com site: users are graded anywhere from 'peasant' to 'king' or 'queen' based on their success at playing casual games.

The King.com re-brand will be supported with substantial platform improvements including a ground-breaking re-engineering of the King.com multiplayer lobby system and an overall site update in early 2006. Furthermore, King.com will host new live tournaments featuring celebrities from the media, sports, and game worlds following the popular Nov '05 tournament with chess grandmaster Nigel Short. King.com users seem to be pleased with the new name, and submitted more than 200 poems celebrating the new brand within 6 hours of the email announcement.

Toby Rowland, Co-Founder of Midasplayer.com commented: 'It is good to be the King.com'.
