Redmond, WA (Oct. 24, 2024) - Indie development studio Belief Engine has revealed its new full trailer for DEAD LETTER DEPT.- the mysterious data-entry simulation game being developed by Mike Monroe.
DEAD LETTER DEPT. is an experimental typing horror game experience, placing you as a transplant moving to a new city working in a temp job- helping to transcribe undelivered mail that failed automated computer recognition. Whether because the mail was damaged, the handwriting was illegible, or something worse. Working in a dingy warehouse, isolated from anyone and everyone, your only connection to the outside world are glimpses of letters that couldn't reach their destination.
You use your computer keyboard to type in various prompts presented, and attempt to decipher damaged images.
As time goes on, working conditions become questionable and dreamlike. Oddities and cracks begin to appear. Making money for rent is important, but at what cost.

The new full trailer premiered in the Indie Horror Showcase (run by DreadXP and The MIX) on October 24th, and marks DEAD LETTER DEPT. nearing its completion.
DEAD LETTER DEPT. originally appeared in the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc: Spectral Mall collection, as well as HauntedPS1’s 2022 EEK3 showcase.
