Namco Hometek Inc. today unveiled new screenshots from "Ridge RacerTM6," the upcoming drift racing title developed for the Xbox 360TM video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The images reveal brand-new features, tracks, vehicles and more from the legendary franchise's eagerly-awaited next-gen chapter. "Ridge Racer 6" tears into stores in November 2005 for the launch of the Xbox 360.
To showcase "Ridge Racer 6's" ability to harness the Xbox 360's power and online capabilities, the new images offer a sneak-peek at the exhilarating Multiplayer Vs. Battles for at least ten players online.
Double and triple nitrous boosts make their debut in "Ridge Racer 6," and the screenshots show off this feature in action. For the first time, it is possible for a player to use two or three charges at once. The more charges players use, the faster they will go and the longer the speed will last.
As players drift, the Nitrous Gauge charges and fills up to a maximum of three levels. When players perform a good drift - using the residual speed from the previous nitrous boost - racers will get a maximized "Ultimate Charge" for their Nitrous Gauge.
The newly released screenshots unveil four thrilling new machines including the STARNOSE, WILD GANG, MELTFIRE and HIJACK. Five new "Ridge Racer 6" courses - Airport Lap, Island Circle, Lakeshore Drive, Rave City Riverfront and Seacrest District - are also introduced.
Images from "Ridge Racer 6's" intro movie cinematic are also included, and fans can catch a glimpse of the sexy Ridge Racer babe Reiko Nagase who is featured in this sequence.
