PORTLAND, NOVEMBER 8, 2023 - Today the tight-knit team at Panic held a new edition of their Playdate Update showcase, focusing on games in development for their unique video game handheld with a crank, Playdate. Panic also revealed a new fashionable Playdate cover color, Aqua, that is now available to purchase at shop.play.date individually for $29 or in a pre-order bundle with a Playdate for $219. Playdates remain for purchase through a pre-order on Panic’s store.

Playdate began shipping on April 18, 2022. Since then, Panic has shipped and sold over 53,000 Playdates. On March 7, 2023, Panic launched Catalog, Playdate’s on-device and browser-based store for games and apps. This week the team hit a milestone of 100 games and apps having been released on Catalog.
