Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate Gets First Demo For Steam Next Fest

Los Angeles, California. - October 11, 2024 - Publisher and developer Rocket Panda Games today announced Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate (PBBGU) will launch its first playable demo during the upcoming Steam Next Fest, from October 14th to October 20th. Arcade beat ‘em up fans will be able to get a taste of the fully rebuilt version of the classic 2D side-scrolling action game.

 

This demo will enable 12 playable characters each with its unique abilities and playstyles, and the full first stage which can be played solo or co-op with up to three other friends locally. 

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate (PBBGU) is a fully reworked version of the original game, launched a decade ago. PBBGU has been built from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5, offering smoother gameplay, cross-platform support, local and online co-op, and Versus modes for up to 8 players. The game also includes new main characters and will let users play as the enemy for the first time.

Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds Ultimate (PBBGU) is set to launch on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on February 13th, 2025. The Phantom Breaker series started out as a 2D fighting game in 2011, developed by 5pb / MAGES, and the beat'em up spin-off, “Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds” was published in 2013 by 5pb / MAGES.
