Mobile games and video publisher Player X has landed a major coup by signing up entrepreneur Lars Becker as Chief Operating Officer.

Becker is well known in the mobile space as the co-founder of Flytxt, an innovative pioneer in mobile marketing and a former Chairman of the UK Mobile Marketing Association. He took Flytxt from start-up to a company that, according to the SundayTimes Tech Track 2004, was one of the UK's 15 fastest growing technology companies in the UK.

He will be responsible for overseeing Player X's mobile video business and integrating the company's global operations across Europe, Asia and the Americas. Previously Becker was with Morgan Stanley Capital Partners, where he structured private equity and venture capital investments in the technology and wireless telecommunications sectors.

"I'm delighted to have Lars on board and he adds further quality to a team that already includes heavyweights such as Nick Alexander, Ynon Kreiz and Adam Valkin. His appointment means we now have unrivalled expertise in games, video, finance and innovation," said Tony Pearce, Player X CEO.

Player X has further extended its team by hiring Russell Marke as Financial Director and added Account Managers for Southern and Northern Europe. The news follows the recent appointment of industry legend Nick Alexander as Chairman and the Company's groundbreaking move into mobile video with distribution rights for the FA Premier League for major territories outside the UK.
