DX Gameworks :

The Brazilian studio DX Gameworks, in partnership with Jovem Nerd, Magalu Games, and Nonsense, has announced the official release date of the game Ruff Ghanor, created from the book and RPG universe of Jovem Nerd. The title, which currently boasts over 1 million fans of the saga, will be available for PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S and PC on February 22nd of this year, with English translation.

Ruff Ghanor is a card strategy game with roguelite elements. The saga tells the story of the hero homonymous by the game, from his time as a goat herder to his epic transformation into a powerful warrior thirsty for justice. This entire plot is told through encounters like battles, exploration, and narratives, and it's in these encounters that the player will use cards, the primary source of story development.

Each collected card represents a crucial action on your journey. You'll need to build a deck, plan your strategies, and create powerful synergies as you progress to face your destiny. Choosing the cards that will be part of your deck not only determines the outcome of battles but also the direction the story will take. The genre and mechanics were chosen with the intention of creating something engaging for players and making good use of the original material's storyline.

According to Alexandre Ottoni, creator of Jovem Nerd: "Since the book has this element of training to get stronger and face the dragon Zamir, we thought a deck - builder would be a really cool way to bring these themes. The book is very 'Rocky Balboa,' so this progression naturally called for such a mechanic." One of the aspects that stands out in Ruff Ghanor is that the game is quite intuitive, even though at the beginning, the player is introduced to different concepts of card types and spells. In other words, with just a few minutes of gameplay, you can learn how battles work and what should be prioritized during fights, promoting exceptional "runs."

For classical RPG lovers and fans of the Ruff Ghanor saga, the game is permeated with characteristics of this universe. There are various monsters, creatures, and epic enemies to battle, narratives whose outcomes can vary based on the luck you have with your deck, diverse explorations, and even a forge to assemble your cards and add them to your deck.

One of the highlights is in the abilities developed by Ruff. As a cleric, he also has divine powers represented through miracles. These are the supreme abilities that can make the difference between victory or defeat by dealing damage to all enemies, healing everyone, or providing armor to protect the group from a super attack, for example.

For those who follow the books and all the podcasts of Jovem Nerd, which tell about Ghanor's adventures, the game will have many references to the first book of the saga, "A Lenda de Ruff Ghanor: O Garoto-Cabra." Additionally, you can find allies who are part of the plot and contribute to the journey by adding different cards to your deck, improving the arsenal available in the epic battles against giants, trolls, and even the Red Dragon, Zamir.

Get ready to embark on this challenging journey, where you are a young cleric destined to face Zamir, the tyrant Red Dragon, and free the kingdom from its relentless oppression. Discover the entire story behind this journey alongside the monks of St. Arnold's monastery and uncover the deepest secrets of Ruff Ghanor.
