WildSphere :

February 14, 2024 The Granada-based WildSphere, known for indie games such as “Oxide Room 104,” “Timothy vs the Aliens,” and “Naught,” and the rock band Sôber, known for hits like “Diez años” or “Arrepentido,” have unveiled the music video for the main song for the soundtrack of the upcoming video game Oxide Room 208. Not only is “Habitación 208” the main song for this new installment of the Oxide saga created by WildSphere, but it is also a landmark accomplishment in Spain’s video game industry thanks to the collaboration with Sôber, one of Spain’s most internationally renowned bands.

This collaboration brought forth “Habitación 208,” the fourth single from the band’s next album “Retorcidos.” The song is a pioneer in more ways than one: the successful rock band was digitally created, and the members were worked into the game’s virtual environment to create the music video, replicating their movements in real time using motion capture technology. Carlos Escobedo, Sôber’s lead singer and bass player, will even be in Oxide Room 208 as one of the playable characters.

The song’s music video was developed completely by WildSphere and rendered in real time using Unreal Engine 5 on next-generation consoles. To make it as real as possible, the team worked to get everything they could out of the engine, utilizing technologies like Nanite, rendering light with Lumen technology, using Chaos technology to destroy the environment, and adding volumetric effects to the fog, fire, and even atmospheric effects.

Habitación 208” offers a sneak peek of what you can expect in Oxide Room 208 as the music video gives an idea of how the game will look, as both were rendered with the same engine and using the same environments and characters. It also gives a few details of what you will see in the second part of the Oxide saga. The music video showcases some of this edition’s playable characters over more than five and a half minutes. It also offers a glimpse of the new version of the saga’s villain, Doc, played by Sergi Carles (TodoJingles). And, as was only fitting, Carlos Escobedo, the band’s lead, will also be one of the nine playable characters you can control in the game.

The music video is now available on Sôber’s official platforms. You can also find it by going to Oxide Room 208’s official page on Steam, the PlayStation store, Epic Games, and GOG to add it to your wishlist.
