About Darkest Dungeon II  

Darkest Dungeon II is a rogue-lite turn-based road trip of the damned. Form a party, equip your stagecoach, and set off across the decaying landscape on a last gasp quest to avert an apocalypse caused by your own failures. The greatest dangers you face, however, may come from within.  

The sequel to the critically acclaimed Darkest Dungeon, the game features all new 3D visuals in the same distinctive style as the original, a new run-based road trip structure, an enhanced version of the innovative turn-based combat system, fourteen playable heroes, five regions, five end bosses, and a metagame hub (“The Altar of Hope”) with extensive persistent upgrades. Darkest Dungeon II first released into Early Access on the Epic Games Store in October 2021 and has seen a regular cadence of major content and feature updates by Red Hook with the aid of community feedback. The first DLC, The Binding Blade, was released on December 11, 2023, and the full game launched digitally to consoles on July 15, 2024, to favourable reviews.  

New Content – Coming Soon! 

Darkest Dungeon II will receive even more content in the coming months! Available first digitally to PC and Mac players in late 2024, the following free and paid content updates will hit consoles in early 2025 and at that point will be available to anyone that had purchased the physical edition of the game.  

A massive FREE update introduces a brand-new stand-alone game mode, called Kingdoms. This game mode challenges you to defend your realm from incursions by all-new enemy factions. Journey across the land on your stagecoach, upgrade your inns and defeat the final boss. Kingdoms will be released in thematic modules, each representing a different threat. The first of which, Hunger of the Beast Clan will see players tasked with fending off the pitiless onslaught of the rotting and ravenous beastmen.  

In addition and releasing alongside the first Kingdoms module will be Darkest Dungeon II's second paid DLC - Inhuman Bondage. This DLC introduces The Catacombs, a high risk, high reward mini-region where players will face off against a new faction of slime sodden enemies. Inhuman Bondage also features the return of The Abomination! This new playable hero comes with a unique battle mechanic, allowing him to transform into a fearsome monstrosity - at the risk of spiralling stress!
