Interoperability with PlayStation2 Through SOCOM 3: U.S. Navy SEALs

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) announce the spring 2006 release of a completely new title in the authentic military franchise, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo, developed exclusively for the PSPTM (PlayStation Portable) entertainment system.

Developed by Zipper Interactive, Inc. and created in association with U.S. Naval Special Warfare Command, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo offers fans of the multi-million selling franchise all-new, realistic missions in four international Areas of Operation (AO) exclusive to the PSP release. After successfully completing a level, players can replay the mission in an entirely new way through the "Instant Action" option, with different objectives, enemies and object placements. In addition, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo is one of the first PSP games to demonstrate interoperability with the PlayStation2 with "crosstalk" title objectives.

For a balanced mix of quick action and traditional stealth gameplay, a streamlined control scheme optimally designed for PSP offers quick teammate commands and realistic lock-on targeting for enemy acquisition. Players can also customise their gameplay experience to play their favourite mission types e.g. Hostage Rescue, Demolition, etc as well as choose from more than 30 authentic weapon and equipment options to suit their combat style.

Players will assume the role of a SEAL commander assisted by an AI (Artificial Intelligence) teammate, as they battle enemies throughout the world in urban and rural warfare in 14 original missions. In addition, completion of an objective in one SOCOM game will affect the overall play experience in both games. Once a crosstalk task is completed, the player will be notified and is able to sync mission-critical data from PSP to PlayStation 2 through a USB connection.

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo brings the leading online PlayStation 2 game experience to PSP. Connect with other players through a wireless LAN connection in Ad Hoc mode or online in Infrastructure mode to enjoy the SOCOM online experience, whenever, wherever. Clans can be formed to compete in all of the classic SOCOM game types to increase individual and clan ranking.

With unique objectives and authentic SEAL gameplay that is adaptable to the player's gaming style, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo is a compelling new military strategy title available only for PlayStation Portable.
