Introduction

Indie developer Niklas Tomkowitz announces Small Spaces, a relaxing game where players turn small apartments into beautifully designed dioramas. From modern flats in Tokyo to Victorian townhouses in San Francisco, players can sit back, let ideas flow, and create their own cozy worlds with fun and ease. The only limit is the space itself.

Game Description

If The Sims was only about designing apartments and if House Flipper cut out the cleaning, you might get Small Spaces, a cozy interior design game without budgets or big challenges. Small Spaces invites players to find relaxation in decorating a space and get inspired to create unique designs effortlessly.

Developed in Unreal Engine, Small Spaces lets any apartment shine with gorgeous sunrises and mellow nights. Hundreds of realistic furniture items and materials open up endless possibilities to design a space. Players use simple tools to create custom kitchens, add indirect lighting and decide where to place their favorite plant.

The limited size of the apartments turns space itself into a resource and inspires players to come up with unique, creative solutions. Like using sliding doors, curtains, stairs and more to design multifunctional layouts and make the most out of a small space.

The Story Mode makes it easy to pick up the game and come up with ideas. Players start from empty apartments themed by cities around the world and unlock new furniture to decorate with as they progress through the game. Furthermore, each space has its own story of who lives there. For example, players get to design a cozy home for a family with two kids or a tiny college dorm, having to come up with a design that is both beautiful and practical.

For players who don’t want objectives and prefer the freedom of full creativity, the Sandbox Mode offers design without limitations, rules or requirements. Players start from the floor plan up and can make up their own story of who might live there.
