Leamington Spa, UK – 4 October 2024: The tears might have been free-flowing during the credits of Still Wakes the Deep, but this will help mop them up: Secret Mode and The Chinese Room are today celebrating two nominations in the 42nd Annual Golden Joystick Awards, taking place on 21 November 2024.

Still Wakes the Deep, a narrative-horror set in 1975 on a North Sea oil rig, is shortlisted in the Best Audio Design category, and Neve McIntosh is nominated for Best Supporting Performer thanks to her incredible portrayal of Suze.

Today’s news follows a string of recent nominations across multiple awards bodies. In September, Still Wakes the Deep secured two spots in this year’s Music + Sound Awards: The Chinese Room’s audio team secured a finalist spot in the ‘Best Sound Design in a Video Game – Gameplay’ category, and decorated actor Alec Newman, who delivers a memorable and emotional lead performance as Caz McLeary, is a finalist in the ‘Best Vocal Performance in a Video Game’ category.

Last month Secret Mode also celebrated 13 nominations in the upcoming TIGA Games Industry Awards 2024, including four separate shortlist spots for Still Wakes the Deep spanning the ‘Creativity in Games’, ‘Heritage in Games’, ‘Action and Adventure’, and ‘Audio Design’ awards categories.

The Golden Joystick Awards 2024 take place on 21 November, 2024. For the full list of nominees and event details, and to vote, please visit: https://www.gamesradar.com/goldenjoystickawards/
