Logitech | HANOVER - March 9, 2005 - Logitech (SWX: LOGN) (NASDAQ: LOGI) announced a trio of stylish new PC headsets that deliver crisp, powerful audio performance for a wide variety of applications - online gaming, Internet voice communications (VoIP), listening to music, and Internet video calling.
The Logitech® Premium USB Headset 350, the Logitech® Stereo USB Headset 250 and the Logitech® Premium Stereo Headset are designed to minimise outside noise by providing a sealed, comfortable fit to the ear. Each headset features oversized 40 mm neodymium drivers that deliver crystal clear audio with more than enough power to make people feel they are immersed in the game - or in the front row at a rock concert.
"More people are using their PC for a variety of audio applications - from listening to music to chatting with friends - and want a versatile headset that can deliver great performance in all areas," said Jef Holove, director of product marketing for the audio business unit. "These headsets are comfortable, durable and deliver superior audio clarity and power. And they look classically cool."
The style of each is a major departure from wiry, fragile headsets, like those used in call centres. Logitech's new headsets look more like they belong in a recording studio - not in a stuffy, drab cubicle. To provide the best listening experience, Logitech designed the ear cups of each headset to create a comfortable seal against the ear, preventing outside noise from seeping through. A soft leather ring forms the seal with the ear while a foam interior provides added comfort.
To optimise the microphone performance, the chamber was engineered to include directional filters, allowing sound to enter from only one direction - the mouth. This design minimises background noises that can be disruptive during online game play or during voice chat. When not needed, the microphone cleverly pivots up and rests in line with the headband so that it blends in visually.
Logitech Stereo USB Headset 250
The Logitech Stereo USB Headset 250 connects to the PC through the USB port, and requires no setup - it's plug and play. USB allows the headset to perform consistently on any system. The USB technology is able to produce high-quality digital audio independent of the computer's sound card, which is an advantage over non-USB headsets if the computer's sound card is not of a high quality. The Logitech Stereo USB Headset 250 is brushed silver and black in colour. It will be available online and on retail shelves in the U.S from April and in Europe from May at a suggested retail price of £39.99
Logitech Premium USB Headset 350
The Logitech Premium Stereo USB 350 shares the same features as the Logitech Premium Stereo USB 250, and offers the added benefit of slightly larger ear pads that help create the best seal against outside noise. The Logitech Premium USB Headset 350 also features an inline volume control with a mute button for instant sound level adjustments. Dark grey and black in colour, the Logitech Premium USB 350 will be available on retail shelves and online in the U.S. from April and in Europe from May. Its suggested retail price in the UK is £49.99
Logitech Premium Stereo Headset
The Logitech Premium Stereo Headset uses 3.5 mm plugs as the interface with the PC, which allows the headset to work with many portable music players and traditional stereo systems. Its 3.5mm interface also makes it a great choice for use with a PC that has a high-quality sound card. The headset has the same physical design as the Logitech USB Headset 350, including an inline volume control with a mute button. The Logitech Premium Stereo Headset will be available on retail shelves and online in the U.S. from April and in Europe from May. Its suggested retail price in the UK is £19.99
