FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New York - October 17th, 2005 - Sumthing Else Music Works, Inc., through its licensing relationship with Microsoft Game Studios, proudly presents Perfect Dark ZeroTM Original Soundtrack. The soundtrack album will be released on November 8th to US retail outlets through Nile Rodgers' Sumthing Else Music Works label www.sumthing.com, the industry leader for licensing and distributing videogame soundtracks.
The Perfect Dark Zero Original Soundtrack features original musical compositions and arrangements by David Clynick who is best known for composing the cinematic music in the first Perfect Dark with Grant Kirkhope. For Perfect Dark Zero, Clynick has combined epic sci-fi soundscapes with a hypnotic, electronic dance feel that sets the pace and tone for one of the most highly-anticipated Xbox 360TM launch titles.
The progressive style of the game's surreal and melodic score is complemented with adrenaline-pumping tracks written exclusively for Perfect Dark Zero by the sexy, cutting-edge band MorissonPoe and acclaimed San Francisco house music DJs, Kepi and Kat. These artists were selected by music veteran and album producer Nile Rodgers to synergize their music with the immersive gameplay action, beautiful graphics and breathtaking special effects.
Rodgers said, "The Perfect Dark Zero soundtrack is one of the tightest, most exciting, kick ass high tech/emo/groove/dance soundtracks ever to drop. It's gonna rock your world! This is the beginning of the future of game soundtracks. Perfect Dark Zero brings it." Samples of the soundtrack are now available at the official soundtrack website www.pdzsoundtrack.com.
Perfect Dark Zero is a prequel to the international award-winning and multi-million-selling first-person shooter Perfect Dark from famed game developer Rare, Ltd. Perfect Dark Zero delivers unprecedented online action and flexibility. Players can choose between a story-driven single-player campaign and various multiplayer options, including four-player split screen and co-operative action, for infinite re-playability. Set in the year 2020, three years before the original Perfect Dark, players of Perfect Dark Zero assume the role of Perfect Agent Joanna Dark in a gripping story where the action in this sci-fi thriller centers on espionage, conspiracy and a mysterious global conflict.
