[Netherlands] Tense Games is excited to announce the release of a major update for Stellar Warfare. The main changes have been the addition of an infinite waves mode for the popular Wave Defense Survival gamemode.

The wave defense game mode was initially added as an afterthought to the game but quickly gained popularity among players. It is played almost as frequently as the skirmish game mode, which speaks volumes for an RTS game.

The wave defense mode used to feature 10 waves with a colossal 'Boss' spaceship appearing after the 10th wave. The focus is more on base building than on fleet mechanics. Then, a co-op mode was added so that players could face those waves with friends. In this update, Tense Games has also added an 'infinite waves' game mode after numerous requests.

Instead of a large boss at the end of the 10 waves, players will now encounter small Assault Platform minibosses every 5 waves. These minibosses have a decent amount of health, but their true power lies in their insanely long attack range. This means that players need to actively destroy them if they don’t want to keep getting attacked from a distance.

New ships have also been added, as well as often-requested save/load functionalities for Base Assault, Wave Defense, and Skirmish. Additionally, several ships have received updated engine colors based on their purpose and style. Green, orange, purple, teal, and red engines have been added for ships like the Frigate, Raider, Hammerer, and Colony.

Modders aren’t left out either. The base game previously limited each ship's weapon systems to a maximum of 5 weapons and 4 modules per frame. Now, it’s possible for modders to add as many as they desire. The ship editor has been updated to reflect this change.

"Stellar Warfare" is a space RTS game developed by Tense Games. Set in the far future where humanity has colonized the local galaxy, the player must control their fleet of spaceships to restore order to the galaxy. An event known as "The Light" has triggered a galaxy-wide civil war, and it is up to the player to seek answers and establish stability. Even before starting their first match, players can begin composing their fleet with over a million possible configurations. You can create fast ships, tanky ships, ships that lay down a field of flak, or simply ships that are cheap to produce. You can then purchase those ships in-game after building up your base, economy, and defenses, of course. No one likes a warp jump into their backyard. Either way, the galaxy is bound to transform into a big cinematic mess.

It is currently unclear when the game will be fully released since the developer is actively looking for a publisher, but the game has been fully playable for over a year now.
