Santa Monica, Calif. – April 4, 2024 – Festivities are in store as thatgamecompany’s treasured social MMO, Sky: Children of the Light, celebrates five years of connection, friendship, adventure and togetherness at SkyFest, an in-person extravaganza taking place in Tokyo, Japan this July 13-14. Fans are invited to join the Sky team as they show their appreciation for the beloved game’s dedicated community with opportunities to meet the designers, visit an immersive Aviary Village recreation, listen to developer presentations and be the first to hear about Sky’s exciting future.
Fans around the globe will be able to join in on the festivities virtually as well, as thatgamecompany is hosting a special in-game celebration. The in-game SkyFest experience will be mirrored for all to enjoy, no matter where they are. Developer talks will be streamed and include the opportunity for players to participate in Q&As just as those in-person will.
SkyFest is set to be thatgamecompany’s biggest bash yet, with attractions and activities such as:
Aviary Village Recreation – The world of Sky comes to life as fans can walk through a real-life downtown Aviary Village, one of the game’s relaxing hangout spots.
Developer Presentations – Fans will hear from the developers themselves as they give players a deeper insight into Sky.
Pop-up Shop – thatgamecompany’s thatskyshop will be on-site for fans to buy special merch and goodies.
Meet and Greet – The team behind the Sky art book, “The Art of Sky,” will join the festivities to meet fans.
Art Exhibit – Sky’s breathtaking art will be on display at The History of Sky art exhibit.
Mini-Games – Attendees can test their skills in a number of exciting in-person mini-games.
Photo Opps. – To remember SkyFest forever, fans can pose at several themed photo opp. spots around the venue.
Mystery Announcement – The future of Sky is a bright one, and thatgamecompany will reveal some very special news of what’s to come later this year.
SkyFest commemorates the devoted fanbase of Sky: Children of the Light, a social adventure game where players journey through the skies and form strong bonds with fellow Sky kids all around the globe. Along the way, they discover whimsical realms home to ancient Spirits and learn their emotional stories. The heartfelt MMO immerses players with a theme-park inspired world where creative expression flourishes with avatar personalization, sharable content creation and more.
SkyFest is a ticketed event, with a portion of space available for the general public. Ticketed attendees will receive exclusive goodies to be teased by thatgamecompany in the coming weeks. More information regarding tickets will be revealed soon on thatgamecompany’s Japanese social media channels.
