SAN FRANCISCO (April 18, 2005) - High school seniors interested in education to enter the video game development or animation industries are invited to apply for scholarships from The Art institute of California - San Francisco (www.aicasf.aii.edu). Students may apply the scholarships toward tuition in the school's bachelor's degree programs in Game Art & Design, Visual & Game Programming or Media Arts & Animation.
Scholarship awards are based on the quality of projects submitted by high school seniors who demonstrate ability and commitment to studying at the school. Students may qualify for scholarships in amounts ranging between $5,000 and $25,000, depending on number and quality of submissions.
To enter, students may obtain a Scholarship Competition Entry Form from the school by emailing [email protected] or calling 888-493-3261. The entry deadline is April 30, 2005.
Student must fulfill general admission guidelines and competition guidelines, including a 250-word essay, educational resume, letters of recommendation and entry form. In addition, students will need to submit samples of artwork relating to each individual program, which may include drawings or illustrations, video game concept development, computer artwork, scripting or programming samples for a PC game, or module development for a game. Students should see the entry form for complete details.
The Game Art & Design, Visual & Game Programming and Media Arts & Animation programs teach skills needed for entry-level positions within the game and animation industries. The school developed its programs in consultation with industry professionals from leading game development and animation companies in California.
