Nottingham based Co-Dev studio The Multiplayer Guys has rebranded to The Multiplayer Group (MPG) and launched new Analytics and Full-Dev offerings.
Founded in 2018 by industry vets Steve Bennett, Rik Alexander and Rocco Loscalzo, the company was met with a warm reception from the industry and, in 2019, was acquired by Improbable. Now numbering 300 people, the studio has a track record that includes multiplayer engineering and co-dev for ‘Fall Guys’, ‘The Elder Scrolls Online’, ‘Grounded’ and ‘Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond’.
The company, which prides itself on the experience of its people (with the average team member having spent over a decade in the industry), has been building a team of crack data scientists, as well as a wealth of valuable data, for the past twelve months. Whilst co-dev projects will continue to be at the heart of The Multiplayer Group, the rebrand sees the company expanding to include a full-dev service for delivery of complete projects from start to launch and beyond.
Steve Bennett, COO & co-founder, said: “When we started the company back in 2018, we knew that there was a need for multiplayer expertise, and people liked playing games together. That gave us the opportunity to become the go-to multiplayer co-dev partner. Four years later and we feel like we really understand what developers want and have seen the benefits our experience can bring to their projects.
That’s why we are proud to launch our new identity and unite our core service of co-dev with new services full-dev and data analytics underneath it. We are here because of the skills, dedication and teamwork of our incredibly talented people, and now with new breadth, The Multiplayer Group is super excited to bring more ways to contribute to our partners’ successes.”
Headquartered in Nottingham, the company has established bases in Canada and Spain, and remote team members spread as far away as Australia, Argentina, South Africa and Serbia. Clients include seven of the world’s top ten publishers and companies, including Bethesda, 2K Games, Zenimax Online Studios, EA Respawn and Activision.
