Shenzhen, China, 23/03/2021 – Today Tencent GWB is happy to announce that submissions are open for the 2021 edition of their annual awards competition, The GWB Game Awards. The GWB Game Awards is a global competition to identify the best indie games and is open to games that have been recently released as well as unreleased games.
GWB Director Yunmi stated, “The 2020 GWB Awards were a huge success, with hundreds of international teams taking part. For this year, we thought long and hard about how to best help participating developers. After much consideration, we expanded our prize pool to include prizes that will directly help developers finish their games and reach a wider audience. That’s why this year our prizes include hardware, localization, conference attendance, cloud credit and mentorship, on top of cash prizes and promotion.”
In order to take part in the awards, developers and publishers should go to gwb.tencent.com/awards2021 and submit information about their game, as well as a playable build. The submission period will be open from March 22nd until June 30th and the entire participation process takes place online, with no attendance necessary. In August the final shortlist will be announced with the best titles being evaluated by a guest judge panel. Finally, the winners will be announced in October.
For the GWB Game Awards 2021, GWB has continued to partner with Intel GameDev BOOST and Tencent Cloud. As in 2020, both partners have generously offered prizes to participating teams and will assist in the promotion of the event and participating teams. Thanks to the support of its partners in 2020, GWB received more than 200 entries from international teams, across more than 30 countries. With an expanded prize pool, GWB expects this number to increase in the 2021 awards season.

Cash prizes (11 titles)
Intel hardware for every winning team (11 titles)
$2000 Cloud Credit to best multiplayer game (1 title)
