I-play today announced a unique partnership with International Sports Multimedia (ISM), exclusive licensee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for Interactive Entertainment Software, to publish a mobile phone game based on the 2006 Olympic Winter Games in Torino, Italy. Scheduled for release in January 2006, just prior to the start of the next Olympic Winter Games in February, Torino 2006TM - The Official Mobile Phone Game of the Olympic Games, will be the first official licensed mobile phone game of the IOC.
Developed and produced in close cooperation with ISM and the Organising Committee of the Torino 2006 Olympic Games to ensure the authenticity of the game, Torino 2006TM - The Official Mobile Phone Game of the Olympic Games will capture the excitement and passion of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games on mobile, allowing mobile phone users worldwide to test their skills at a number of signature Olympic Winter Games disciplines, including Downhill Skiing, Ski Jumping, Curling and Bobsleigh.
Paul Maglione, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Publishing, I-play commented: "This is an incredibly exciting opportunity, especially given that this will be the first-ever mobile phone game release for an Olympic Games. We are honoured to have been trusted with the most prestigious brand in world sports; and are delighted to have this title join our roster of top-name sports games."
