ROSWELL, Ga. – April 10, 2024 – Developer and publisher Tripwire Interactive announced today that Matthew LoPilato has been appointed CEO, as Alan Wilson will transition from his role of CEO to Vice President. LoPilato was previously CFO and worked closely with Wilson. The leadership transition reflects a new era for Tripwire Interactive, as LoPilato will oversee the Roswell-based studio and its 120 employees as they continue to create new game experiences and service their community of fans worldwide.

Wilson co-founded Tripwire in 2005, and has held multiple senior positions within the studio before being named CEO in 2021. In his new role as Vice President, he will continue to be involved in activities including the assessment of internal and external developed titles, as well as potential publishing opportunities, business development support and legal assistance.

“It’s been an honor to serve as Tripwire’s CEO but I am beyond thrilled to hand over the reins to Matt,” said Alan Wilson. “He has been instrumental with our success and evolution as a standout developer and publisher which makes him a great fit. He has great vision and passion that will continue to serve our team well. I’m deeply appreciative of having the trust and support of my team and Embracer, to serve in this new role that allows me to have more personal time.”

LoPilato has been at Tripwire since 2016, where he held business and financial roles. He has served as CFO since 2018, and has worked closely with Wilson and other leaders to oversee the studio including its acquisition by Embracer Group in 2022. As CEO, LoPilato will be responsible for continuing to lead the company as they further invest in their tentpole IPs (Killing Floor series, Maneater, and more) as well as grow their portfolio through Tripwire Presents, the company's 3rd party publishing division, and other strategic partnerships.

“I am grateful to Alan for what he has done for our studio. He has been an amazing leader, mentor and friend to me all these years and I am thankful to him, and the other founders, for the opportunity to continue with their vision and build upon that legacy of achievements and successes for the next phase of our company,” said Matt LoPilato. “We have a great outlook for what’s to come from Tripwire Interactive, as we continue to iterate on our portfolio of amazing IPs, leveraging our strengths and passion as game developers and publishers to support our games and partners.”
