Chapel Hill, NC - November 15, 2005 - Over the years, Vicious Cycle Software, Inc. has built a diverse game library that attracts a wide audience. Today, the company announced that it will continue this tradition and reach an even broader audience through their new division, Monkey Bar GamesTM. The primary focus of the Monkey Bar Games division is to develop games based on popular mass-market licenses, providing new ways for people of all ages to connect with their favorite characters.
"Monkey Bar Games is a continuation of our efforts to diversify our business in new areas," said Eric Peterson, President of Vicious Cycle Software, Inc. "We are excited to produce high quality games that will be viable across all interest groups and age demographics."
The first Monkey Bar Games title is Dora the ExplorerTM: Journey to the Purple Planet, based on the #1 preschool show, Dora the Explorer, that airs on Nickelodeon. Published by Global Star Software, a division of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc., the game was released in October for the PlayStation2 computer entertainment system and Nintendo GameCubeTM.
The division's next title is an action-adventure game based on the Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment's animated feature film Curious George. Scheduled for a February, 2006 release to coincide with the release of the film, Curious George will be published by Namco Hometek Inc., in partnership with Universal Studios Consumer Products Group, for PlayStation2, Xbox, Nintendo GameCubeTM, and the PC.
A third Monkey Bar Games title is also in the works and should be ready for release in Fall 2006.
