Chase Bethea's receipt of this esteemed accolade further solidifies his position as a pathfinder in the field of video game music.

In addition to honoring Bethea's remarkable achievements, the Excellence in Artistry Award holds a special significance, as it features a unique design inspired by the Fairfield F console, a groundbreaking invention by Jerry Lawson, an iconic figure in the history of video game technology. "I am deeply honored to receive the Excellence in Artistry Award from the Black in Gaming Foundation," said Bethea. "This recognition means a great deal to me, and I am most grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of game music. The artistry process is mostly undervalued, but never forgotten. We are the generators that can bring happiness and peace to people at any stage in their lives.  In my case, I am the writer of nostalgia that touches people aurally. I like to call this "sonic nostalgia." The privilege comes with great humility to create memories at any stage in your life through musical textures. Thank you kindly for listening attentively and appreciating eclectic quality,” Bethea continued. “This award is a testament to the small thought I had at another industry award show several years ago: that I have to keep doing my own thing. We are limitless beings. We can be better than we were yesterday and be greater than we are now, tomorrow” 

This award acknowledges individuals who create visual artistic expression that moves the soul. All the elements of that beautiful tapestry of games in so many different ways from art to writing to all the pieces that go along to making games fantastic and great. The focus is at one of the biggest and most impactful parts of the gaming space and production layer. The award recognizes Bethea as a master Composer and master of many layers of musical composition and bringing to the forefront the importance of music and the importance of how that elevates all the pieces of emotion that bring us together.
