PORTLAND, FEBRUARY 13, 2024 -  Today, after a lot of hard work and logistics, Panic is thrilled to announce that they have caught up to all Playdate pre-orders and that a limited number of Playdates are currently available for purchase at shop.play.date.

Going forward, Panic will notify the public when Playdates are in-stock and ready to ship. Customers will still be able to place an order for a Playdate when it is out of stock, but will be notified that their order won’t ship until Panic has a new batch of Playdates ready to ship.

We are finally able to send a few more Playdate units for coverage purposes. The number of units we have are limited, but feel free to request one through our form if interested.
 

Panic is also expanding the list of countries they can ship Playdates to. Notably including the country where Playdate is manufactured — Malaysia.

This comes at an exciting time as Playdate is close to celebrating the one-year anniversary of Catalog, Playdate’s curated on-device and web-based store for Playdate games, which now has 120+ titles for new owners to discover on top of the 24-game season that comes with every unit.

Two new wonderful titles, Pullfrog: Playdate Deluxe from Amano Games and Oom from developer Gregory Kogos (Omaze, seen in Playdate Season One) have also just been announced to release next week on February 20.

Current and soon-to-be Playdate owners can also look forward to a new edition of Panic’s Playdate Update, their Playdate-focused video showcase, coming soon discussing even more titles releasing in 2024. Full showcase details to come at a later date. 

Panic first opened pre-orders for Playdate on July 29, 2021. Playdate began shipping to customers on April 18, 2022. Catalog for Playdate launched on March 7, 2023.
