(New York, NY, August 23, 2005) - In a nod to the increasing popularity of e-Sports, the World Cyber Games (www.worldcybergames.com), today announced that the world's leading manufacturers of gaming hardware - Samsung Electronics, Intel, Razer and Shuttle - will sponsor the World Cyber Games 2005 US National Final at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom from September 8-10, 2005.

Quality equipment is as important to a player's performance as his or her own abilities. So when 186 of the nation's top gamers gather for the US Final of the world's largest gaming tournament next month, organizers have taken every measure to ensure they're competing on the industry's top performing monitors, PCs and peripherals. At the highest level of e-Sports, gamers depend on this specialized hardware to meet the rigorous demands of the games they play.

Samsung Electronics, a worldwide sponsor of the World Cyber Games since 2000 and a global leader in digital technology will supply both LCD and CRT monitors for PC and Console competitions respectively. Samsung offers a wide variety of high definition visual display screen sizes and technology platforms (LCD, Plasma, DLP and CRT) that give gamers unprecedented realism and intensity in their gameplay. Samsung's monitors and TVs offer super-fast pixel switching speeds (from 12 to 8 milliseconds) that enable intense action while overcoming any motion artifacts. Samsung's strategy is to elevate gaming to the next level through high-definition technology and the World Cyber Games.

Intel, the world's largest processor maker joined WCG for the fourth time this year, supplying PC processors designed to handle the high speed graphics and action required by elite PC gamers.

Razer, a first-time premier-level sponsor, will furnish the competition's peripherals, including the CopperheadTM mouse and eXactMatTM. The newest addition to their family of reptilian gaming accessories, the Copperhead is the first 2000 dpi laser optical mouse and features 32KB of onboard memory. The eXactMat mousepad/wristrest combo features dual surfaces for speed and control and a gel filled wristpad for ergonomic comfort.

Taiwanese based Shuttle will provide US finalists with powerful PCs to support the explosive gaming action. A leading high-end PC manufacturer, Shuttle signed on to support the US Final following its sponsorship of the Grand Final sponsoring last year.

"This is the sixth year Samsung Electronics is associated with World Cyber Games," said Gregory Lee, Global Chief Marketing Officer for Samsung Electronics. "Cyber gamers are early adopters who are very receptive to new technologies and state-of-the-art products. Samsung Electronics has been a worldwide sponsor for the last five years because it values the World Cyber Games as a new effective communication channel to enhance our relationship with this targeted group of consumers."

"In our continued efforts to support the gaming community, Intel is thrilled to participate in the World Cyber Games US Finals," said Jeff McCrea, Vice President of Sales and Marketing and President, Intel Americas. "Intel platforms enable high end performance for an incredible overall gaming experience. Today's gamers expect an immersive style of game play and Intel platforms allow gamers to experience a new generation of games with realistic graphics, high levels of artificial intelligence, robust physics and high definition audio."

"The mouse and mouse pad are the most important weapons in a gamer's arsenal and with Razer providing the official suite of gaming peripherals for the WCG, it's an endorsement of Razer as the world's leading designer of high-performance gaming peripherals," said Robert Krakoff, president, Razer Group. "We're confident that Razer's products will allow players to achieve their optimum performance during the tournament."

"Shuttle's constant push for innovation in a stagnant PC industry has made the XPC small form factor into the choice platform for gamers," said Michael Wu, President of Shuttle Computer Group, Inc. "This year's XPC-powered World Cyber Games will give gamers the chance to experience cutting-edge innovation. We're excited to support this great event."

"This year's list of distinguished sponsors demonstrates the industry's commitment to furthering the development of e-Sports and gamers at all levels," said Mr. Hank Jeong, CEO, International Cyber Marketing, the organizing body of the World Cyber Games. "Partnering with leading technology manufacturers in the gaming space allows WCG participants to compete at their best for the honor of representing their country at this year's Grand Final in Singapore."

From the 186 gamers at this year's US National Final, 16 are expected to advance as Team USA to the Grand Final in Singapore, where they will compete against 800 gamers from 70 countries for national pride and a prize pool of $400,000. The US Final competition includes eight of the most popular PC and console (Xbox) game titles around, including: Counter-Strike, Starcraft: Brood War, Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War, FIFA 2005, Need for Speed Underground 2, Dead or Alive Ultimate, and Halo 2.

Approximately 40,000 participants competed in World Cyber Games US preliminary events this year; more than 1 million are expected to participate globally. The World Cyber Games helped launch the careers of Counter-Strike gold medalists Team 3D, WCG Hall of Famer and reigning Halo champion Matt "Zyos" Leto, and many other careers in professional e-sports worldwide.
