Former High Moon Studios (The Bourne Conspiracy) CTO and Certified Scrum trainer Clinton Keith announced a two-day announced a "Certified Scrum Master for Game Development Course" designed to teach the fundamental principles of Scrum through hands-on experience. The two-day, standalone course will take place during the first two days of this year's Game Developers Conference, from March 23rd - 24th, at the Intercontinental Hotel, one block away from the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Tailored specifically for those working in video game development, the course seeks to give participants practical experience working with Scrum tools, while helping them develop practices such as product backlog, sprint backlog, daily Scrum meetings, sprint planning meeting, and burn-down charts. Attendees will be presented with practices for getting projects off on the right foot; writing stories for the product backlog; scaling Scrum to large, multi-continent projects; helping producers, artists, designers, and programmers work together effectively; and working with publishers and others outside of the team who aren't familiar with Scrum. Previous Scrum experience is not required. Participants who complete the course will be designated as a Certified ScrumMaster by the Scrum Alliance and receive a year's membership in the organization. Registration and further details on the "Certified Scrum Master for Game Development Course" are available via the Agile Game Development weblog.
