3D and Product Lifecycle Management software developer Dassault Systèmes has announced 3DVIA MP, a higher end development authoring platform than its Virtools, with a realistic real-time rendering engine for PC and Xbox 360. There are two forms of 3DVIA MP -- Prototyping and Production. 3DVIA MP Prototyping helps developers build prototypes on PC and test them directly on their target platforms. 3DVIA MP Production is "the complete and flexible integrated production pipeline designed for multi-platform game development projects." Dassault Systèmes has announced that it has plans to introduce its PlayStation 3 and web versions of 3DVIA MP this summer 2008. "Our new development engine encompasses the entire development cycle - from importing content to testing and debugging - maximizing publishers' investments by allowing them to create content once, optimize it, and publish it across multiple platforms," said Bertrand Duplat, Virtools founder and CTO, 3DVIA, Dassault Systèmes.
