GDC China organizers have announced more new sessions for its Production Track, including GSN Digital on 'lean production' leading to launching over 25 games per quarter, Gameloft on extending the life cycles of Order & Chaos (pictured) and Heroes of Order & Chaos, and Double Fine's techniques for optimizing humans and the software they use. UBM Tech Game Network's GDC China, now in its sixth year, has moved up to September this year, running from the 15th to the 17th at the Shanghai International Convention Center in Shanghai, China. The event will be co-located with Cloud Connect China. In 'Debunking Myths About Lean Game Development,' Katherine de Leon of GSN Digital (Video Bingo Deluxe, Deal or No Deal Slots) will outline the innovative lean production process at GSN that allows a 40-person studio to launch more than 25 games per quarter. She will address myths associated with a lean methodology, with theory from Eric Ries's Lean Startup product management and development methodology. In 'How to Create and Operate the Online Game -- Sharing Experiences of Order & Chaos and Heroes of Order & Chaos,' Gameloft global vice president Yu Fei will explore the release versions and the exciting and creative content pushed out in later updates to extend these mobile games' life cycles while maintaining maximum performance. Lastly, In 'Ideas Per Second: Optimizing for Human Performance,' Nathan Martz at Double Fine (The Cave, Dropchord) will discuss specific techniques for building software and cultivating teams that are fast, flexible, and sustainable. Martz will draw form Double Fine's experience of transforming from a two-games-per-decade studio into a prolific, multi-platform company. These sessions join others already announced for the Production Track, including Arma II mod DayZ's rise to 2 million users, Ubisoft's Splinter Cell Blacklist level art, and Crytek's game design-minded management tips. Those interested in attending GDC China can do so by registering for a pass on the official GDC China website.
