Visual Effects Artist, Petroglyph Games

Location: Las Vegas, NV Petroglyph Games, creator of the upcoming RTS game Grey Goo, is looking to extend our professional family. We are currently seeking a seasoned FX Artist who can make a big contribution to our future game products. The right candidate needs to possess a strong desire to create compelling effects that bring life to the storyline of our game to the player. The best candidate is considered a strong team player that is motivated and committed to delivering Triple A quality work! Responsibilities In-Game particle effects work that emulate real-world, fantasy and sci-fi styles. Explosions, Gunfire, Energy FX, weather effects, etc. Communicate with programmers/designers as necessary to bring tasks to completion. Provide creative input specific to assigned tasks. Learn graphic tools & processes as required. In-Game particle effects work. Requirements Fluent in 3D Studio MAX & Photoshop. Must have a technical understanding of computer applications. Basic understanding of XML. 2+ years of professional CG experience. Must have excellent understanding of Particle systems to create realistic CG effects. Ability to fine tune work at the pixel level. Passion for games. Must have good written and oral communication skills. Great portfolio in digital media. Must have 'team' attitude. Must have the ability to conceptualize, present and execute ideas. Real-time texture map creation. 3d packages scripting. Preferred Requirements Movie industry and/or Game industry Effects work in CG. Bachelor of the Fine Arts degree or related program. Modeling/texturing skills a plus.
