Technical Artist, Turtle Rock Studios

Location: Lake Forest, CA Join our exceptional development team as a Technical Artist on a game targeting next generation hardware. This role focuses on optimizations and working with shaders, materials and post-processing effects. The employee will work extensively on helping the content team optimize assets to achieve project goals. Applicant must be highly motivated and organized, able to work as part of a large team, while communicating effectively with multiple disciplines. Responsibilities Investigate and champion performance and memory optimizations. Work with the Art and Programming departments to effectively produce content. Troubleshoot asset and editor problems for the art department. Make recommendations on how to improve asset quality and art process productivity. Coordinate with all departments to achieve project goals. Work with Programming and Production departments to develop risk/reward on game features. Requirements Strong knowledge of 3DS Max and Photoshop. Experience in creating art assets for games using 3DS Max. Proficiency in MaxScript. Self-driven, responsible and detail-oriented person. Proficiency with using profiling tools such as PIX. Knowledge of HLSL and deferred rendering. Experience working with shaders and materials; creation and optimization. Preferences Knowledge of Perforce. Experience with Rigging. Experience in other scripting and programming languages, ex. Python. Knowledge of XML based asset setup for CryEngine. Passion for computer games.
